We stayed at Julie's Airbnb and then had breakfast downstairs at Skyward Cafe. It was a perfect combo for a weekend away from DC to go hiking in Shenandoah. The cafe setup is super cute. I loved the various touches from the games at each table to the artwork they've used to decorate the place to make the cafe feel homey and comforting. The music selection was awesome. The food was very good as well. We had a biscuit sandwich and waffles, both were really good. I'd definitely recommend stopping here for some breakfast before starting a day of hiking. Or if you're looking for a place to stay when in Shenandoah, look up Julie's place on Airbnb. Julie was a great host for us and our two dogs for a night.
Cool place for a quick bite to eat. Super friendly staff. Had a great breakfast sandwich and really good cup of coffee.

We spotted Skyward Cafe on our drive back to DC, and stopped in to try it. We weren't disappointed-- great food, amazing smoothies, and really friendly staff in a nice little setting. Highly recommended!
